2015 - Current

The highly anticipated 50th Anniversary 2015 Ford Mustang saw Ford stick with the overall shape that made the 5th generation retro Mustang model so popular. The 2015 Mustang has softer edges and a more aerodynamic shape. There are also some European styling ques as the Mustang is now offered on a global platform. There were 3 engine choices, a V6, an Ecoboost Turbo 4 Cylinder, and of course the V8. All models now have an independent rear suspension. The V6 was eventually dropped as the turbo 4 had just as much power and is a much more advanced engine. The new model was a huge success and brought new customers into the Mustang family. This model also saw the return of the Bullit, GT350, and GT500 performance models, which set the standard in horsepower and handling for the category. For model year 2021 Ford introduced the Mustang line extension called the Mustang Mach E. The Mach E is an all electric vehicle that when properly outfitted can do amazingly quick 0 to 60 mph times.

When the 2015's were first available to order, we ordered our Ruby Red 2015 Premium Ecoboost Mustang Convertible with automatic transmission and the performance package at Griffin Ford in Waukesha, Wisconsin.  Then Ford didn't produce convertibles for the first six months of the production run, so when it finally was made, we had it drop shipped to Matthews-Currie Ford in Venice on December 26th. We were showbirds, that in 2019, left it in our Sarasota garage to avoid shipping hastles and expense.  After two weeks in Wisconsin, I missed it and found this Velocity Blue 2019 Premium Ecoboost Mustang Convertible with automatic transmission and the performance package that I got at Griffin Ford that lived in Wisconsin for us in the summers.  We sold our Wisconsin home in August of 2023 to become full time Florida residents and brought the blue one down here so now we have the two Mustangs in our garage.
